John Theisen made a gift for each of his Class of '62 Classmates. John and JoAnn came back to Iowa to present his classmates with the gifts on October 20, 2007
at our monthly breakfast gathering.
John had obtained blackboards from the our old High School building. He cut the blackboards into about 9" X 12" pieces and framed each one as a gift to us. The finished gift is about 9 1/2" X 12 1/2".
For those of us attending the monthly gathering, we were delighted and honored to receive such a personally handcrafted gift with ties to our old school.
The photos below are from the Breakfast gathering.

Update from Dana McClaskey
I've been retired over a year and love it. I enjoyed reading Ken's report of the reunion (after 3 years). My new email address is danamcc@primenet.com (the email address page has been updated). I'll have the same address this summer in the mountains if the service is better than last year.
Merry Christmas to all and hope to see you in 2002.

Open letter to all '62 classmates,
John and JoAnn Theisen came to my house yesterday. They were on a one week vacation to Arizona. They gave me my 35th reunion shirt and "The Book", so now I have good pictures of all that attended and a biography of everyone. Lots of good reading.
John wanted everyone to know that he had sent messages to some of you on the web and you may have had them returned. This is because a couple of days before he left for Arizona his modem got wiped out by a lightning strike. He will be back on when he buys a new one.
The way it looks now I am gong to retire July 31, 1998. My internet address is at work, so that'll wipe me out until I get setup at home, and I have no idea when that'll be. I'll be going to my weekend home in the mountains, so won't be thinking of the internet up there. Love to hear from anyone here, or at my mailing address.
Hope to see you all at the 40th.

UPDATE: Well, now I have three grand children. It just doesn't get any better. Nicholas Mitchell Cooper was born on the 16th of January. Jerry and Jessica are his parents. He's a very smiley guy and so much fun. Jacob John Cooper was a birthday present to me, he was born April 2nd the day after my birthday. Jason and Jodi are his Mom and Dad. He's fun too and he's a very strong guy.
Our little princess Hailey just turned one and she's so beautiful. She's a woman of very little hair and the alluring walk of a chimp right now, but she is truly the most beautiful girl in the world to me and grandpa.
Well, that's about all.
Oh, Jerry's factory (Titan Tire) is on strike so he's gone into the shoe repair business. He's at Blackford Shoe repair in Urbandale and he loves it. Who would have thought he'd start a new career now.
It was great to see the letter from Dana.
I'll be thinking of everyone-
Carol Glider Cooper
