WHATEVER YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN YOUR LIFE:
I am very actively involved in my work life as the clinical director of Quest Integrative Health Center. It is a non-profit organization that I founded in the 1980’s, and after considerable effort, it is a vibrant organization that provides services, education, and community to persons with life challenging illnesses, or anyone who desires integrative care. I train doctoral psychology students at our center. I love to help people change and connect more fully with who they are. I am still passionate about my work, and excited to go to work every day. I have been making trips each year to developing countries in Asia and Africa, to learn more about how to effectively support positive change. I expect within the next 2 years to be doing some work in Africa, probably the Democratic Republic of Congo that relates to healthcare, empowerment of women and community development.
WAS THERE SOMETHING AT JOHNSTON THAT INSPIRED YOU OR CHANGED YOU AND THUS BECAME PART OF YOUR DAILY LIFE?
I think that I received a foundation from Johnston for highly valuing integrity and service. Basketball taught the importance of putting your self fully into what you do, and caring that others have a good experience also. I learned to value friendship and care about the bigger picture in life.
