2007 - 45th Reunion:
FAMILY INFORMATION:
Married to Lee Coburn
Daughter: Angie
WHATEVER YOU WANT TO SHARE ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN YOUR LIFE:
Yikes! It's hard to believe it's been 45 years since we graduated from JHS! Not much has changed at the Coburn household in the last 5 years except we are moving slower, it seems. Lee continues to farm and hopes to go for 3 more seasons to reach the 50 year milestone in 2009. I continue to work at Life Care Retirement Communities, Inc. in downtown Des Moines having moved from full time responsibility for corporate compliance to quality improvement for our 11 facilities in 7 states. For those of you in the Des Moines area, Deerfield in Urbandale is our first and only community in Iowa. I haven't decided yet when I'm going to retire, not quite ready at this point. Our daughter Angie who lives in West Des
Moines continues to prefer the single life, so alas Lee and I are wanna-be grandparents. Needless to say, we spend our time doting on the great nieces and nephews in our families.
We did purchase a home in Arizona this year so plan to spend more and more time during the "colder seasons" in the sunny southwest with the boring blue skies! We continue to enjoy traveling and are looking forward to a couple weeks in Norway this September with my sister and brother-in-law.
Lee's family is from a farming area north of Tjelmland on the western section so it will be fun to explore that portion of heritage. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in June and hearing about the changes in your lives and what you've been up to!
2002 - 40th Reunion:
Family Information
Married to same wonderful guy – 37 years by reunion time
Daughter Angie still single - by choice
Our former foster son has 2 children and foster daughter is a mother of 4 so we’re “surrogate” grandparents.
Work/Retirement History
Retirement – I wish! Actually I’m still working as the Corporate Privacy and Compliance Officer for Life Care Retirement Communities, Inc. in Des Moines. Major change from last reunion.
Life’s Highlights
Life has been good with lots of family celebrations, extensive travel, great circle of friends and good health.
1997 - 35th Reunion:
I graduated from Iowa Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. I'm presently working at the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care. Just had my 12th anniversary there. I work in managed care (private & public sectors) in Iowa and Nebraska. Lee and I usually spend a couple of weeks in Mesa, AZ every winter where my parents live year round. We're looking forward to spending more time there in the winter!
Husband Leland is a farmer and seed salesman. Our daughter, Angie, 28 years old is a church youth director. She graduated from Luther College in 1992. Lee and I are looking forward to the day she meets "Mr. Right"!
Our two former foster children, Christopher and Tanner are both married and live on the East coast. Tanner has a little baby boy, Elijah.
Really enjoyed your book Rachel (Suzi) Canon!
